Time lost in freeing stuck string and loss occurred on equipment lost in hole multiplies the cost head on fishing and side-tracking operations. In order to mitigate such nuisance, drilling crew must be provided proper training of Stuck Pipe Prevention. It helps prevent stuck pipe incidents, presents causes and preventative measures of stuck pipe as well as trains crew for warning signs and recovery techniques. The said program provides drill crew and supervisors practical techniques for eliminating or significantly reducing stuck pipe incidents, and steps to minimize the event and get free quickly.
History of stuck pipe incidents can be used to determine (1) which action was not taken correctly (2) where improved technic was required but not provided. The prime factor behind stuck pipe incidents are lack of communication and lack of knowledge/ knowledge applicability in drilling crew.
